Meet some of the members of our team here at Sunrise of Louisville.
“I have worked in senior living for nearly 20 years, and have served our senior population in many capacities. I have been a geriatric nurse for 16 years.
My favorite part of my job is seeing our residents each day and enjoying their stories, listening to the advice they offer, and helping them to live a purposeful and joyful life in our community.
Sunrise is a fantastic company and a true leader in senior living. Every day we are each encouraged to follow the mission of this pioneer company to champion quality of life for all seniors.
In my spare time, I enjoy my two girls, Sara and Megan. I love to travel, cook, and spend time with friends and family.”
“Working in senior living is a humbling, rewarding path. There’s something special about sharing your days with folks who have experienced the ups and downs of life for decades longer than you have, and learning from their knowledge. Our residents and their families have become my second family, and our Sunrise community is truly my second home.
As the Director of Sales, I build relationships with families in the process of helping them make informed decisions to fit their individual needs. I learn about each family’s challenges and difficulties to see if Sunrise of Louisville might be a good fit. I enjoy providing families with resources and information to find them the best solution and alleviate some of the stress they may be feeling.
Outside of Sunrise, I find purpose in my faith, spending time with my husband and our two children, reading, and being outside!”
“Before Sunrise, I worked as the Program Administrator for the Hazelwood ICF/ID. My proudest career-related accomplishment was taking my first walk-in tour at our Sunrise Louisville community which resulted in a move-in, extending our family even further!
I love learning about each of our residents and their families. In my time at Sunrise, I have had the opportunity to meet some of the most interesting and accomplished people. In addition, I enjoy the bond I have with my team of caregivers and my co-workers.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching football and basketball (UofL and the Dallas Cowboys), playing video games, and spending time with my kids.”
“I have been an RN for since 2011. Personally and professionally, I am most proud that after working as an LPN since 2000, I went back to school and obtained my Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
My favorite part of my job at Sunrise is having the opportunity each day to improve the quality of life for our residents, and subsequently, their families!
Outside of Sunrise, I enjoy spending time with my daughters and my grandchildren.”
“I’m Evelyn McAlister, and within our Sunrise community I have worked as the Reminiscence Coordinator (current role), a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, Certified Medication Technician, and Life Enrichment Manager.
My proudest career-related accomplishment is being able to come to work and engage with the residents and their families. Being able to work hard and overcome obstacles to improve the quality of life for our Memory Care residents brings me so much purpose. I love making our residents laugh and smile.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, and attending church.”
&ldquoIn 2009, I interviewed for a Concierge position at Sunrise of Louisville. The ED asked “what do you think you will need to carry you through the day?” My answer was “a can-do attitude and a comfortable pair of shoes.” A dozen pair of shoes and several years later, I know that this was the right decision. Nothing brings more joy to my heart than finding a way to make our residents and family members comfortable with their decision to make Sunrise their home.
“I joined the Sunrise team in 2007. I was in another Sunrise community before joining the team at Louisville because I love making our residents happy!
At Sunrise, there is always opportunity for growth, and the management team is supportive and flexible.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my daughter, reading, and traveling to visit family.”
