Meet some of the members of our team here at Sunrise of Louisville.
“I have worked in senior living since 1995 and have served seniors in many capacities. I have been a geriatric nurse since 2000.
My favorite part of my job is seeing our residents each day and enjoying their stories, listening to the advice they offer, and helping them to live a purposeful and joyful life in our community.
Sunrise is a fantastic company and a true leader in the senior living industry. Every day we are encouraged to live the Sunrise mission 'To Champion the Quality of Life for All Seniors'.
In my spare time, I enjoy my two girls, Sara and Megan. I love to travel, cook, and spend time with friends and family.”
“I’ve been a nurse in the geriatric field since 1994 as an LPN, I later earned my Associates Degree in Nursing in 2011. There’s never been a doubt that my calling is serving our elders.
My favorite part of my job at Sunrise is having the opportunity each day to improve the quality of life for our residents, and subsequently, their families. I also love how I’ve gotten to bond with many residents over the years; each holding a special place in my heart.
Outside of Sunrise, I enjoy spending time with my daughters and my grandchildren.”
“Since I began with Sunrise in 2016, I have had the honor as serving as a Care Manager, Medication Care Manager, and currently as the Reminiscence Coordinator.
The best part of my job is being able to come to work and engage with the residents and their families. Being able to work hard and overcome obstacles to improve the quality of life for our residents brings me so much purpose and joy. I love making our residents laugh and smile!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, pets and attending church.”
"I’ve been in the food service field for more than 30 years. I received my culinary training through the Military Culinary School and my Dietary Manager’s certification from Auburn University. I’ve held a director position for more than 20 years which includes Long Term Care, Hospital, Regional and District Manager experience. Also, while serving in Desert Storm, I prepared a Thanksgiving meal for President and Mrs. Bush and General Schwartzkopf.
Being part of Sunrise has been a rewarding journey for me. The pure joy of creating delicious meals for our residents and watching them enjoy it is truly a rewarding experience. I am so excited to be part of this amazing company.
My hobbies include photography, watching my daughter play fast pitch softball and watching Auburn football War Eagle!”
"I started my journey with Sunrise in 2014, and I am very excited about being a part of Team Louisville! I earned my BS in Sociology from the University of Louisville with much of my coursework geared toward issues relevant to aging.
One of the things I most enjoy about my job is being the team captain for our annual Alzheimer’s Walk. It is amazing to watch everyone pull together in support of research to end this devastating disease. We are filled with such emotion and pride to be walking with the Sunrise of Louisville team on behalf of our families – what an honor this truly is!
In my spare time, I enjoy working in my shop, raising my nieces and spending time with my family."
"When I interviewed for this position, I was asked “what do you think you will need to carry you through the day?” My answer was “a can-do attitude and a comfortable pair of shoes.” A dozen pair of shoes and several years later, I know that this was the right decision.
Nothing brings more joy to my heart than finding a way to make our residents and family members comfortable with their decision to make Sunrise their home."
Sunny Joined the Sunrise family in 2016 as a rescue and has adjusted very well to his comfortable surroundings. Sunny enjoys lounging around the community most days. Sunny is very food motivated and he’s guaranteed to be close just in case a morsel should hit the floor. Each day he makes his rounds through the community checking in on residents and staff, just in case there’s something for him to munch on of course. Sunny is happy to offer a “high five” for a treat!
