National Assisted Living Week: Sue Coppola’s Take on Sunrise Care

Sue Coppola, SVP of Care  |  September 14, 2015

As we celebrate National Assisted Living Week (NALW) and reflect on what makes our industry and long-term care so special, there are many things that come to mind. At the very core, however, is quality care.

Sunrise’s commitment to quality care not only helps us to fulfill our mission of championing quality of life for all seniors, but also allows us to focus on the whole person. That is why we are thrilled to celebrate this year’s NALW theme, “Nourishing Life: Mind, Body, Spirit” at our communities this week.

Led by our person-centered approach to care, we tailor each of our services to the individual, helping seniors to maintain independence and dignity. This personalized approach begins prior to moving in, when we meet with a resident and their family to develop their Sunrise Individualized Service Plan (ISP), helping us to identify each resident’s care needs and preferences.

We get to know our residents on a personal level. We learn about their likes and dislikes, favorite pastimes, hobbies and what brings them joy in their daily life. It is about our highly trained team members connecting with residents on this level that sets Sunrise apart and helps us to deliver on the Sunrise Quality Promise, which residents and their loved ones expect from us.

At the same time, we constantly strive to aim higher, and look at ways to innovate and improve.  We take the trust our residents and their loved ones place in us very seriously, and put them first in all that we do every day.

We are excited to continue championing quality of life for all seniors, and it is a pleasure to serve you and your family. Here’s to a great National Assisted Living Week!
