"I have eighteen years of experience working in assisted living and I have enjoyed every year! My favorite part of working at Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights is the vitality of the community. That vitality comes from the amazing people whom I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know. The residents have much wisdom and joy to share and they do so freely. It is an honor to be able to assist the residents and their families with the support and care they need. Additionally, I enjoy working with the wonderful team at Brighton Gardens. We are all stronger together. 

The best part of working at Sunrise is the many friendships I have made – both residents, team and families. Sunrise has a very warm welcome when one is a new team member and It continues with excellent training, mentorship, camaraderie and a unified focus on the mission – to champion the quality of life for all seniors. In my spare time, I treasure being together with my family. I belong to a book club that has been together for twenty five years so I love to read – especially fiction and biographies. I love singing, learning, dancing and exercise."

"I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years of which 14 years are in Senior Living/ Continuing Care. I previously assisted with the startup of an Assisted Living neighborhood within an Independent Living building and managed that continuing care neighborhood for 3 years. My favorite part of my job is assisting our residents and providing them the continuity of care that they deserve. 

The best part of working at Sunrise are the coordinators and team members. We are rich in the gifts that we bring and share everyday as a team. In my spare time I spend time with my family, watch TV dramas and scary movies, play video games and cook. I also belong to Gospel Music Ministry at my church."

Sue Erim 

Director of Sales

Sue has been a proud team member of the Sunrise team for 13 years. Her favorite part of her job is providing emotional support and acting as a resource for residents and their families through the decision-making process.  At Sunrise, Sue values the support she receives to address unique situations and meet every guest’s individual needs.  

In her spare time, Sue loves spending time with friends and family at her cabin and any activity where water is involved.

Resident Care Director  

Vida has spent her 20-year nursing career at Sunrise and loves making a difference in her residents’ lives every day.  She is passionate about their care and takes great satisfaction knowing that she and her wellness team have improved the quality of life for each resident in their community.  

Vida’s favorite thing about Sunrise is the team synergy and supportive environment at Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights.  

Vida enjoys relaxing with her family in her spare time.

Robert Ojowi

Reminiscence Coordinator

"I have been with Sunrise for more than 17 years. I started off as Lead Care Manager and worked through the ladder to the current position of Reminiscence Coordinator. The best part of my job is seeing new residents and families gain trust in the team as they begin to feel like Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights is home. 

I value the opportunities that Sunrise provides all its team members and been lucky with taking full advantage of the career ladder. I am a recipient of the Sunrise Executive Director in Training (EDIT) and graduated from the program in 2017 and was then promoted to AED. In 2015, I was nominated and won the Lifespan Network Hero Awards. 

In my spare time, i enjoy using my Private Pilot’s license to fly small Cessna planes and I also take pride in DIY projects around the house."

Terri Adams

Activities & Volunteer Coordinator

Terri has been at Sunrise for more than 13 years and loves building relationships with new residents, welcoming them to the community and making people laugh. She values Sunrise because of the specialized training they have invested in every team member that helps enable residents to “live with purpose.” 

When Terri has free time, she loves reading suspense novels and is a huge movie buff.
