Executive Director

“I had previously worked at Sunrise in 2004 and recently came back to join the Sunrise family as the executive director here at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton. I enjoy being able to personally get to know each resident daily and learning about their past and current likes. By doing this, it helps to ensure that our residents are engaged and living purpose-filled lives, all while celebrating their individuality.

When I am not spending time with my Sunrise family, I love spending time with my five-year-old son, and enjoy time with friends and family.”

Robyn Velazquez

Director of Sales

“Working with seniors is my passion, and I have been fortunate to do what I love as a career. It allows me to be a resource to those in need, while helping them explore and understand senior living options.

Coming to work doesn’t really feel like work, as we are one ‘big family’ that enjoys spending time together and serving our residents. When I am not with my work family, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, shopping, and going to movies.”

Business Office Coordinator

“Having worked in the senior industry for more than 15 years, I came to Sunrise in 2011 as concierge. With a degree in business administration, the move to business office coordinator in 2013 was a smooth transition—and one that makes me happy every single day.

The best part of my day is the time I spend with residents. They share their wisdom, hugs, and smiles with all of us. Celebrating their individuality is my passion.

When I am not at Sunrise, I enjoy traveling, camping and spending time with family and friends.”

“I am excited to come to work with the residents at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton each day. My mantra is ‘if you love your job, then you will never work a day of it;’ with more than 20 years of maintenance experience, this still rings true with me today.

Taking care of our community and ensuring our resident’s safety and well-being are of utmost importance to me. I love listening to the stories the residents tell about their lives, and what life was like when they were my age I was their age.

My kids and grandkids are the best, and I enjoy spending time with them when I’m not working!”

“When I first came to Brighton Gardens of Wheaton more than 15 years ago, I started as a housekeeper, and I am now a lead care manager. 

We are all one big family here, and we enjoy serving our residents and becoming a part of their extended family. 

Dancing and singing with the residents is one of my favorite things to do!”

“I started my career with Sunrise more than 15 years ago, and it is the best job I have ever had. There are so many reasons why I believe Sunrise is an amazing place to work, but the residents are the number one reason why I love my job.

When I first came to the U.S. from Albania, I had to leave my family behind—but working at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton, the residents and staff have become my extended family. We truly are family, caring for each other on a daily basis.”
