We are pleased to introduce you to our dedicated team here at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton.
Nick has a background in Hospitality Executive Management and is thrilled to make the jump to Sunrise Senior Living. He is passionate about working with seniors, and where he can, has contributed to the improvement of the community.
“Sunrise allows me the opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s life. I am proud that our community has a reputation for consistently delivering quality care. Our families can take comfort knowing their loved one is in great hands.”
He is married with two children. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching youth baseball and basketball cooking and golf.
“Working with seniors is my passion, and I have been fortunate to do what I love as a career. It allows me to be a resource to those in need, while helping them explore and understand senior living options.
Coming to work doesn’t really feel like work, as we are one ‘big family’ that enjoys spending time together and serving our residents. When I am not with my work family, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, shopping, and going to movies.”
"I joined Sunrise in June of 2018, but I have 7 years of experience in Assisted Living and Memory Care. I opened the Assisted Living and Memory Care units in 2 communities prior to Sunrise.
My favorite part of my role here is serving the residents in whatever capacity I can. The best part of working at Sunrise is the caring philosophy and the continuing training and learning opportunities provided to all its staff.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, cooking, baking, and doing crafts projects."
"My name is Jill Polanski, and I am the Reminiscence Coordinator here at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton. I have been in senior living for about 7 years with experience in both Assisted Living and Memory Care communities.
The best part of this role is spending time with all of the amazing residents and their families, and the best part about working at Sunrise is the amazing team that helps bring life to our residents each and every day.
In my free time I love spending time with my family."
"I have been with Sunrise since June of 2016. I was the Activities & Volunteer Assistant before becoming the primary AVC here.
My favorite part of my job is being able to see the residents fully engaged and happy in any of our programs. The best part of working at Sunrise is that we work as a team.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and fishing, camping, playing badminton, visiting museums, and doing school projects."
"I joined the Brighton Gardens of Wheaton team back in April of 2018, but I started with Sunrise as a server at Sunrise of Gurnee in 2009. After that, I started to cook for Sunrise Senior Living in 2013, serving as Sou Chef for the Church Creek location. Then, I opened several Autumn leaves kitchens. Following that, I got the chance to come back to Sunrise as a Dining Services Coordinator and immediately jumped at the opportunity.
The best part of my job is the personal relationships I get to build with the residents. The best part of Sunrise for me is that they provide so much room for personal and professional growth. They really do promote within the company.
In my spare time, I like to relax and watch movies."
“Having worked in the senior industry for more than 15 years, I came to Sunrise in 2011 as concierge. With a degree in business administration, the move to business office coordinator in 2013 was a smooth transition—and one that makes me happy every single day.
The best part of my day is the time I spend with residents. They share their wisdom, hugs, and smiles with all of us. Celebrating their individuality is my passion.
When I am not at Sunrise, I enjoy traveling, camping and spending time with family and friends.”
"I joined Sunrise in 2018, but for the previous 9 years, I have been working in long term care. My favorite part of my job is fixing things and interacting with our wonderful residents and their families.
The best part of working at Sunrise is being able to work with people who all have the same goals. I love helping our residents get settled and taking care of a large community.
In my free time, I love riding on my Harley and spending time with my family and friends."
“I started my career with Sunrise more than 15 years ago, and it is the best job I have ever had. There are so many reasons why I believe Sunrise is an amazing place to work, but the residents are the number one reason why I love my job.
When I first came to the U.S. from Albania, I had to leave my family behind—but working at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton, the residents and staff have become my extended family. We truly are family, caring for each other on a daily basis.”
