Meet some of our experienced team members here at Sunrise at Montgomery Village, MD.
“I am fortunate to have been with Sunrise since 2015. My passion for service to seniors began in the 1980s when I worked as a certified therapeutic recreation director in skilled nursing in Annapolis. I then became a senior center director for Anne Arundel County Department on Aging, as well as an assistant property manager for a 55+ community in Howard County. Through the years I have been the primary caregiver for my grandma, my father who had Parkinson’s, and my mom who lives with vascular dementia.
I love being a part of a team that works tirelessly every day to bring the highest quality of care and compassion to our residents and their family members; it feels good to know that families entrust us with the care of their loved ones. The smiles, respect, and warmth of our team and residents are always felt upon entering our community. It makes coming to work each day feel like coming home to family.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my three sons and daughter. We enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, traveling, concerts, and downtown Annapolis.”
“I have been a team member at Sunrise since 2012. My first role in senior living was as wellness coordinator, where I assisted with scheduling, creating, and implementing systems to streamline processes for evaluations, assessments and increasing revenue as well as team member satisfaction. I have also coordinated activities, driven the bus, and worked in sales and executive director positions.
My favorite part of my job is, by far, the residents. I love hearing their treasured histories and stories. I take great pride in helping families find solutions during what can be stressful and vulnerable times. Our esteemed team works hard and works collaboratively each day to serve our residents, and it is rewarding to work with such a great team.
Catherine has been a nurse at Sunrise at Montgomery Village since July of 2006. Before joining Sunrise, she worked as a nurse at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.
Catherine says her favorite part of her job is having the privilege to care for our residents during difficult times in their lives. For the residents with Alzheimer’s/dementia, she appreciates being able to travel on their journey with them.
According to Catherine, the team environment is what sets Sunrise apart. The residents and families know and trust that they made the best decision in allowing Sunrise to care for their loved one.
During her spare time, Catherine loves to spend time with her family and children, cook and volunteer in the children's ministry at her church.
