John has been the Executive Director at Sunrise of Abington since the Summer of 2019. He brings to Sunrise years of experience as a Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator in New Jersey.
Andrew joined Sunrise of Abington in May of 2018. Previously an Executive Director in the Home Healthcare Industry, Andrew brings sales, leadership, and administrative experience to the community.
Andrew’s position includes helping prospective families find a place for their loved one- and guiding them through the move-in process. His favorite part about the job is simply being a presence in the community and pitching in where he is needed.
Working at Sunrise of Abington allows Andrew to meet residents from all walks of life, something he considers extremely rewarding.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys traveling with his wife, watching Kansas City Sports, and pursuing various artistic endeavors.
Megan has worked with Sunrise since 2017, as a Director of Sales. Her favorite part of her position is working with a team to fulfill Sunrise’s pledge to champion the quality of life for all seniors.
Suzanne is our Resident Care Director and brings 30 plus years of nursing experience to table. She has worked in the hospital setting where she gained experience in adult care with a focus on oncology, medical surgical nursing and geriatric care. She has been with Sunrise since September of 2017. Prior to coming to Sunrise, Suzanne worked in hospice. Suzanne has a deep commitment to assuring that all residents receive the highest quality care. She leads her team of experienced wellness nurses and med care managers are focuses on the delivery of safe and effective care. She and her team share a passion for caring for seniors and find their work rewarding and inspiring.
Toyeebah Olanigan has served in the Healthcare field in various capacities for over 8 years. She earned my Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University after which she began my career as an Activities Assistant, and she has worked her way up ever since. Her passion for serving seniors motivated her to further her career. She is a licensed Activity Director and Personal Care Home Administrator.
Ali began her journey with Sunrise back in 2013, starting out as a Care Manager. Soon thereafter, she was quickly promoted to the role of Reminiscence Coordinator here at Sunrise of Abington.
Lynn joined Sunrise of Abington in January of 2018. For ten years previous, she worked as a professional Theatre Teaching Artist in Minnesota, Boston, and Greater Philadelphia. As Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, Lynn sets out each day to “spark the synapses” of those around her through creativity, lifelong learning, and reflection.
Lynn’s position includes developing, scheduling, and facilitating the programming for our Personal Care Neighborhood, as well as supporting the programming for our Reminiscence Neighborhood. She especially enjoys bringing smiles to other’s faces, particularly through music.
Working with the residents and team members of Sunrise of Abington provides Lynn with the opportunity to always be learning, growing, and expanding her horizons—there’s always something new to discover!
Ann has been with Sunrise Senior Living since 1999. As the Independent Living Activities & Volunteer Coordinator, she manages all activities programming for our Independent Living Residents. Planning a variety of activities each month including trips out of the community, and events within- Ann brings years of experience and enthusiasm to her position.
Jen Lavin is the Business Office Coordinator at Sunrise of Abington. In her role, Jen is responsible for the system related business processes such as: payroll, resident billing, and other various finances.
Jen began her career at Sunrise of Lower Makefield in 2017 as an Associate Director of Sales to support the community in achieving its goals.
Prior to Sunrise, Jen worked at Aria Hospital where she provided wellness coaching with patients to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors. She also planned and implemented the Behavioral Health Unit’s activity/therapy program for older adults with mental illness.
Prior to joining the Sunrise team 17 years ago, Karen worked as a caregiver for several years.
"Simply put, I love my residents and I love what I do,” she said. Karen’s commitment to the residents’ care is evident whenever she is in the community.
Karen says that “giving my residents the care that they need” is her favorite part of her role as the Lead Care Manager at Sunrise of Abington. Karen is part of a family effort to care for her own parents at home and she finds that very fulfilling.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys shopping.
Gary is proud to say he has seven years of service with Sunrise Senior Living as a cook. Gary enjoys satisfying the residents’ preferences when they request special orders. “It makes me feel good to know I can accommodate their individual needs,” Gary said.
Gary’s favorite part of his job is seeing the smiles on the residents’ faces. Gary’s love for music is a positive infectious spirit among the residents and his fellow team members.
Ethan celebrated 12 years with Sunrise of Abington in June 2016. He started out in the dietary department after graduating high school. After some years, he was able to take on the role as driver.
Ethan is appreciative of the opportunity to have one-on-one time with the residents. “Transporting the residents gives me the opportunity to really learn about our residents’ histories. I sometimes call it ‘taxi cab confessions.’”
Ethan is an avid sports watcher and a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan.
