We’re expanding operations and welcoming brighter days.
"I started working at Sunrise in February 2020. I have both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Health Care Administration with previous experiences in both Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing.
I have always had a close relationship with my grandparents, and that has guided my career path. My passion for working with seniors grows each day from having the opportunity to connect with the residents and learn about their life experiences and history. It is amazing what you can learn from someone from just taking the time to listen. I consider myself very lucky to be able to say that I truly enjoy coming to work each and every day.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my English Bulldog Brewer, cooking, and watching my favorite sports teams – the Capitals and the Nationals."
In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my 3 kids and a deep passion for photography."
"I remember the days as a young boy living in the island of Jamaica watching my mother making our cultured food with recipes she inherited from her mother. Once I started cooking with my mother using Granny’s recipes, I knew right away I wanted to be a chef. After I graduated from Tilden High School in New York. I decided to attend the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park New York. There I was awarded my Culinary Degree and had the pleasure of meeting JW Marriott. We went deep in conversation about my goals in becoming an executive chef, not realizing I was being interviewed. At the end of our conversation; Mr. Marriott said call me after graduation. Two weeks later after graduation I know my next move was moving to Maryland.
I began working as the executive chef at Marriott Test Kitchen where we created signature recipes which is still in use within the Marriott hotels all over the world. In 1995 I was transfer to the Marriott Healthcare sector at Holy Cross Hospital as the director of dining services. Four years later I had another transfer to Knollwood Senior living, as well as Five Star Senior Living. During 31 years of my career I was awarded first place 3 consecutive years for international cuisine in Europe. Champion Iron chef in the Metropolitan area for the Taste of Senior competition in Washington DC. . I remember a few years ago one of my resident asked me what do I like about cooking? My honest answer was watching you enjoying my food. Some of my favorite cuisines to make include Caribbean, European, Asian and Italian. During my free time I continue to create recipes at home with my baby girl, apprentice Shaolin Kempo. Looking back of my life I can proudly say I AM. SUNRISE!!!!"
"I have been a maintenance coordinator for over 10 years. My start was in the apartment building industry. As I grew through the ranks, I was ready to not only find a company that supports my career goals but also one that made me feel good everyday I came to work. Sunrise allows me to help wonderful people everyday. I enjoy making sure my residents are comfortable and safe in their rooms and their shared community.
In my off time, I enjoy spending time and traveling with my wife and son."

I am looking forward to continuing my journey with the Sunrise family.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and volunteering with my church."
"My name is Baymayah Dunyankor (Maya for short) and I’m excited to announce I am your new Activities Volunteer Coordinator. My hobbies include reading, traveling, and trying new restaurants. I've worked with seniors for a while ,dealing with personal care then I transitioned into activities. I’ve worked in quite a few assistant living communities and group homes, where I’ve retained an abundance of experience. . I’m aware of how imperative it is to have our residents participate in social activities, to help keep their mind sound and their Spirits stimulated. Our focus will be to have everyone engaged physically and mentally on a consistent basis with the assistance of our amazing employees and of course the love ones of our residents . Please feel free to share any suggestions you may have or to just briefly enlighten me on what your loved one may like to see more of."
