We’re excited to introduce you to some of the fantastic members of our team who tirelessly work to make each day great at Sunrise of Gilbert.
In 2012, Skyler joined Sunrise as an executive director. He began as the executive director at Sunrise of Gilbert in October 2016. He says, “My favorite part of my job is interacting with the residents, getting to know them, and listening to their fascinating stories. Thanks to their infinite wisdom, I am able to learn something new each day.”
Skyler says that the best part of working at Sunrise is the feeling he gets from helping others. At the end of the day, he leaves work grateful and fulfilled and feels he has made a difference in someone’s life.
In his spare time, Skyler spends time with his daughters—playing dolls, dancing to Justin Bieber songs, and having tea parties. He also likes to golf, fish, hunt, and spend time outdoors.
Max joined the Sunrise team in July of 2018 as the Associate Executive Director. He moved from California having been in the home health and senior living industry since graduating from San Diego State in 2008. When asked what he enjoys most about working at Sunrise he states, “I love just sitting down and having a conversation with our residents. The stories and lives of the people we serve are truly extraordinary. Whether we talk about their professions, hobbies, or just how their day is going, I truly cherish and savor these moments every day”.

“I have loved Sunrise from the moment I walked in the door as a volunteer in 2009. The residents made me feel like family, and the team members were happy and friendly. I knew I had found a place that really cares about others, that delivers on their promise to “champion the quality of life for seniors.” It wasn’t long before I applied for a job, and I have never regretted a minute of it. I want to extend that same feeling to others, who are looking for a home for their loved ones. As director of sales I get to be a resource for families as they navigate the maze of senior living options. I have the opportunity to share the difference Sunrise can make it their daily lives”.
“As the Business Office Coordinator, I’m able to interact with our residents and their families on a regular basis. I love coming into a beautiful, comfortable setting every day and seeing our smiling residents and team members! I am honored to call Sunrise of Gilbert my second home.”
Jason Nohr joined Sunrise in October 2017 as the Maintenance Coordinator of the Sunrise Gilbert community. Jason has 3 daughters, his two oldest are attending college in South Dakota and his youngest is in High school in Gilbert Arizona. His wife, Karen, is also enjoying her employment with Sunrise Senior Living.
Jason brings 25+ years of maintenance experience with seven of those in another assisted living facility in South Dakota as Maintenance Manager. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, hiking, and traveling.
"The true enjoyment of working with these great residents and staff is getting to know them, helping them with any issues they may need, and providing a safe community for them to live in and work in."
Suzanne has enthusiastically joined our team recently as the Reminiscence Coordinator after serving the geriatric population for over 20 years.
Suzanne noted, “As soon as I entered the doors of Sunrise I was overwhelmed with joy! All the residents, the family members and team members were so happy and everyone looked like one big family, I knew immediately I wanted to be part of this special warm and loving family! The memory care neighborhood is special to me because the residents allow us to share their hearts and their world with their treasured lifetime memories daily while we create new memories together every day!"
"I feel truly blessed to be able to spend my days with our loving, wise, and appreciative residents. The most enjoyable part of my job is creating memories and watching our residents live each day to the fullest. It is truly a pleasure to work in such a positive and supportive environment."
Susan joined Sunrise of Gilbert in 2017 as the Director of Sales. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in senior care and is excited to be part of the Sunrise of Gilbert team. Susan is trained as both a social worker and dementia practitioner with over 12 years in the senior living industry
Susan says, “I have always said I don’t sell....I believe. And as part of the caring Sunrise team, I know the promises I am able to make to concerned families will be kept for the rest of our residents’ lives. This is a community where coming to work is coming home.”
