"I have worked at several different franchises; the most fun was when I worked at Wienerschnitzel Franchisee. I had 3 restaurants which kept me very busy! I have also been a licensed Real Estate Agent for over 26 years. However, my passion has always been to work with Seniors! I have been working in the Senior Industry for about 9 years and loving every minute of it. My favorite part of working at Sunrise, is the feeling of joy you get each day. I truly look forward to coming to work and seeing the residents and our engaged associates! I feel a sense of accomplishment and excitement when I meet new residents and their families. I am honored to be part of one of the biggest decisions in their life.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, riding bikes, kayaking, cooking, and any outdoor activity."

When Sam’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids. Hiking and watching movies, especially horror, seem to be the families go to activities."
"I have enjoyed every minute at Sunrise of Gilbert since I started as a volunteer. I loved the residents and everything Sunrise was about and applied for a job as a concierge. I have had various roles throughout my time with Sunrise and each role has taught me so much. After working on the Sales team for 3 years, I transitioned to my current role as Reminiscence Coordinator. I’m thankful to be part of such an amazing team. My favorite part of working at Sunrise is the team members and community environment.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have three amazing sons that keep me on my toes. I also enjoy painting and playing with my five dogs."
"I have been with Sunrise since 2011. As a retired nurse I was working in Sales/customer service, and was looking for a different career. As a nurse I always loved serving the elderly, so when I came into Sunrise, I knew
that was where I was supposed to be. I worked in Memory care as a Life Enrichment manager and then Reminiscence Coordinator at Sunrise of Chandler for 8 years. The best part of my job is to create happy and meaningful moments
With our residents. If they are happy and smiling then I am happy too!
I have three grown daughters—two in Oregon and one here in Arizona. One grandson, and one on the way. I enjoy hiking, spending time with family, and taking care of my house full of plants."
"I have been with Sunrise of Gilbert since March of 2010. I went to college at Arizona State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Human Development with a minor in Aging and Lifespan Development. My last semester at ASU I volunteered at Sunrise of Gilbert and after I graduated I became the Activities Assistant. For a little over 9 years, I was the Activities & Volunteer Coordinator and loved keeping the residents engaged with the various Live with Purpose Programs. I recently became the Business Office Coordinator and even though I am now more involved with billing and administrative work, I am happy I can still participate in activities, socials and events with both residents and families.
I love being at Sunrise because of the warm feeling and home-like environment you sense and feel walking through the doors. Also, I enjoy working with a great group of team members who truly are here to “Champion the Quality of Life for All Seniors.”
Outside of work, I enjoy giving attention to my dog, Ginger, spending time with my family and friends, and learning new recipes on Pinterest."
Jason Nohr joined Sunrise in October 2017 as the Maintenance Coordinator of the Sunrise Gilbert community. Jason has 3 daughters, his two oldest are attending college in South Dakota and his youngest is in High school in Gilbert Arizona. His wife, Karen, is also enjoying her employment with Sunrise Senior Living.
Jason brings 25+ years of maintenance experience with seven of those in another assisted living facility in South Dakota as Maintenance Manager. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, hiking, and traveling.
"The true enjoyment of working with these great residents and staff is getting to know them, helping them with any issues they may need, and providing a safe community for them to live in and work in."
"I feel truly blessed to be able to spend my days with our loving, wise, and appreciative residents. The most enjoyable part of my job is creating memories and watching our residents live each day to the fullest. It is truly a pleasure to work in such a positive and supportive environment."
Susan joined Sunrise of Gilbert in 2017 as the Director of Sales. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in senior care and is excited to be part of the Sunrise of Gilbert team. Susan is trained as both a social worker and dementia practitioner with over 12 years in the senior living industry
Susan says, “I have always said I don’t sell....I believe. And as part of the caring Sunrise team, I know the promises I am able to make to concerned families will be kept for the rest of our residents’ lives. This is a community where coming to work is coming home.”
