Resident Care Director

"I think the best part of my job is working with the geriatric population. I enjoy working with seniors and I appreciate the amount of support that Sunrise offers at every level.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my grandchildren. I also enjoy music, movies, dining out and concerts."

“I have been working for Sunrise for nine years.

Due to my passion and enjoyment of caring for seniors, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in human services, certification in gerontology and I am now working on my master’s degree in gerontology at USC.

I truly share and follow the Sunrise mission “champion the quality of life for all seniors.”

“I began my adventure (career) with Sunrise as a Designated Care Manager back in July 2012. Since then, I have steadily grown personally and professionally with Sunrise. I continue to embrace each teaching moment from my residents and team. Never a dull moment at work- it is half the fun.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, nieces in particular. Children and seniors have taught me to appreciate and enjoy life to its fullest."

“Walking into the community every morning greeting our residents, putting a smile on their faces, and making a difference in their lives has been the highlight of my job since starting at Sunrise in 2011.  It places a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart. At Sunrise, our team approach is phenomenal.  We all work together to bring joy to our residents and team members.  Our line of work can be challenging and through the years I have learned to embrace the following “Sunrise-isms,” which has helped me become the person that I am today.  Where we are today is one point in our journey through life. Think about the work that you do and take time to enjoy the moments that you share with your residents and teams. You make such a difference in people’s lives. Most of all, take time to enjoy what you do!

I am originally from Fiji and it is in our culture to respect and serve other people with a smile from our hearts.  Whenever I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three children, family, and friends.”
