“I have seven years of experience with Sunrise Senior Living. Prior to joining Sunrise, I worked in child therapy and as a marriage and family counselor. 

The best part of my job is making a difference for our residents and team members. At Sunrise, excellent teamwork is cultivated and we receive fantastic support for our leadership teams.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, having coffee and finding a good place for brunch.”

“Before coming to Sunrise, I spent many years as a hospice patient advocate. At Sunrise, the highlight of my role is move-in day for new residents. Families feel so much hope, and there is excitement from the team members. Picking up the welcome plant always brings a smile to my face.

Since joining the Sunrise team, I have fallen in love with the feeling of family and teamwork that you get being here.

I spend much of my spare time with family. My two kids are active in sports and scouting so my husband and I are as well.”

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends. I love the beach, barbequing and poolside fun in the sun!”

"I have been a proud member of the Sunrise team since 2010. Recently, I’ve been given the opportunity to return to Sunrise of Mission Viejo as the Resident Care Director. I have had experience of being a Wellness Nurse and a Reminiscence Coordinator here at Mission Viejo.

The best part of my job is being able to work and help families on their journey with their loved ones through the aging process. The ability to help families find a silver lining with their loved ones during a time in their life that they may be most vulnerable is very rewarding.

My favorite part about working with Sunrise is the dynamic of the Sunrise team and how our team naturally becomes a part of the residents' families.

In my time outside of Sunrise, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends, and creating traditions with them. My favorite tradition with my husband and two sons is our weekly pizza and movie (mostly superhero) night."

"I knew at a young age that caring and working with seniors was my calling in life. By age 15 I began volunteering as a Candy Striper at the local nursing home, and by 18 I was a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have 30 plus years of experience in working with seniors in various settings. Joining the Sunrise team seemed natural since our core values are the same. I am honored to be part of such a great team. I am also honored to be working with your loved ones. 

 When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, 2 daughters and I love basketball so we go to as many games as we can."

Reminiscence Coordinator

“Prior to joining the team at Sunrise I decided to pursue my passion by receiving a Masters in Gerontology from the University of Southern California.  I have extensive experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s as a caregiver, advocate, and granddaughter to a loved one suffering from memory loss.

My goal is to improve the quality of life and self-efficacy of those in Memory Care. Sunrise allows me to be a part of the journey for the residents and their families experiencing memory loss.  I love to be able to make such a difference.

I enjoy spending my free time with my family, friends and the newest edition to the family my little Maltese “Cookie”.  When I am not with friends or family, you can find me with a good book, or in the kitchen baking.  I am very excited to be at Sunrise and privileged to be part of the journey with your family.”

Activities & Volunteer Coordinator

“Before coming to Sunrise, I was an activities director at a skilled nursing facility and also worked at St. Jude’s Hospital, coordinating activities for the kids and young adults that have to spend much of their lives in the hospital.

My favorite part of my role is encouraging our residents’ independence and interacting with a diverse group of people. The team members and the residents make working at Sunrise so special. 

In my time outside of Sunrise, I teach dance and yoga. I spend some of my free time doing volunteer work at a local women’s shelter. I also love to host board game nights with friends and family.”

Dining Services Coordinator

"I am a passionate Culinary Arts graduate with an intensive background on Corporate, Restaurants, Catering and Special Events. I received my certifications on: Food Service Management, Culinary Arts and Dining Room Operations from Cypress College. I have been in the Hospitality industry for over 30 years, seven of these have been with the senior community; I have to say, they have forever captive my heart!

A few fun facts about me: I am a mother of a daughter who has too pursue her passion in the hospitality industry, and grandmother of two amazing teenage boys! I am an animal lover and rescue senior dogs with special needs along with adopting three cats. I'm a coffee fanatic. I love taking my parents to casinos, and ironically, they hide from me when it's time to leave."

"I'm so glad to be at Sunrise where I can work with caring individuals and enjoy a variety of responsibilities. Previously, I worked as an accountant with technology companies and a as a teacher of students with special needs. In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis, walking trails and spending time with family and friends."

Maintenance Coordinator

“I have been with Sunrise for over six years as a Maintenance Coordinator. Prior to Sunrise, I used to work for a real estate firm remodeling homes for sale dealing with all aspects of construction. I also have computer and technical knowledge from a prior employer of 17 years.

My favorite part of my job is knowing that I can make a difference to the residents’ lives by keeping this community as beautiful and as safe as it can be. I have a lot of pride in my position here at Sunrise.  My favorite part working for Sunrise is getting to know the residents and finding out the history behind their personal life stories and roles they had in life is amazing to me. 

In my spare time I enjoy all sports as I have been a softball coach for all of my three beautiful daughters for the past 20 years. Spending time with family and friends is a big part of my life outside of Sunrise.”

I have been with Sunrise for a few months now.  I started cooking at Aqua in Dana Point at the age of 17.  From there I was a chef at California Pizza Kitchen, Mimi’s Café, and was a chef instructor at Sur La Table
