Roxanne Psenicnik—Team Member since 2011

Executive Director

“I’ve had a passion for working with seniors since I started volunteering with Sunrise in the 6th grade. It’s my mission to ensure that our community brings great days to all of our residents through thoughtful gestures, engaging programming and individualized care. One of my personal favorite things to cook with our residents and learn some of their family recipes. I love helping make my residents’ lives begin again once they are here with us.”

"The best part of my job is being able to support families on their journey with their loved ones through the aging process. The ability to help families find a silver lining with their loved ones during a time in their life that they may be most vulnerable is very rewarding. 

My favorite part about working with Sunrise is the dynamic of the Sunrise team and how our team naturally becomes a part of the resident’s family.”

"As an RCFE Administrator and Certified Dementia Practitioner, I continue to challenge myself in learning and adopting higher standards that will better serve our aging Seniors affected by Alzheimer’s and various Dementias. 

As a leader, I will continue to support and empower a team who can offer seniors a meaningful lifestyle that identifies and focuses on a unique sense of independence, personal happiness, and individuality."

“I have my BS in Gerontology from USC and have worked in the health care industry in Skilled Nursing as well as in the sales/marketing and finance industries over the past 25 years. I love coming to work each day knowing that my job supports both our residents and families, as well as, the amazing team members that make this community the best in South Orange County! 

Seeing our residents living with dignity and thriving at Sunrise of Mission Viejo makes it a pleasure to serve this community as the Business Office Coordinator! Sunrise has always had a stellar reputation for not only taking care of our residents, but also hiring the best and promoting from within. I look forward as the Business Office Coordinator to help our team members grow within Sunrise Senior Living.”

“My favorite part of my job is knowing that I can make a difference in the lives of our residents by keeping this community as beautiful and as safe as it can be. I have a lot of pride in my position here at Sunrise. My favorite part working for Sunrise is getting to know the residents and finding out the history behind their personal life stories and roles they had in life is amazing to me. 

In my spare time I enjoy all sports as I have been a softball coach for all of my three beautiful daughters for the past 20 years. Spending time with family and friends is a big part of my life outside of Sunrise.”

“Before coming to Sunrise, I was an Activities Director at a Skilled Nursing Facility and also worked at St. Jude’s Hospital, coordinating activities for the kids and young adults that have to spend much of their lives in the hospital. 

My favorite part of my role is encouraging our residents’ independence and interacting with a diverse group of people. The team members and the residents make working at Sunrise so special."

“My favorite part of my job is interacting with the residents and building trust with them and the Sunrise Team. The best part about working at Sunrise is being a part of a great team that cares about what they are doing. 

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going outside, taking trips to Disneyland, and having cookouts with loved ones."


jessie buehlerJessie Buehler

Reminiscence Supervisor

After completing her BS in Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton in 2013, Jessie realized her passion for working with seniors in a fitness setting, keeping them physically strong to be able to perform their ADLs. In her transition to Sunrise, she started as Life Enrichment Manager and Care Manager in Reminiscence and has a passion for promoting dignity and quality of life for the residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.  

“My favorite part of my role here at Sunrise is getting to work with the residents. Some days are tough when multiple things are going on, but seeing the residents smile and have fun is my favorite part of my job.”

In her free time, Jessie enjoys playing beach flag football, attending country music concerts, going line dancing, and reading.

I have been with Sunrise for a few months now.  I started cooking at Aqua in Dana Point at the age of 17.  From there I was a chef at California Pizza Kitchen, Mimi’s Café, and was a chef instructor at Sur La Table

My favorite part of my job is knowing that I can make a difference to the residents’ lives by keeping this community as beautiful and as safe as it can be. I have a lot of pride in my position here at Sunrise.  My favorite part working for Sunrise is getting to know the residents and finding out the history behind their personal life stories and roles they had in life is amazing to me.
