My name is Stephanie Hunter and it is my honor to be the Executive Director of Sunrise Naperville. I’ve been with Sunrise since 2018 and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 2012. In 2003 I completed the Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant program and it was then that I realized my desire to work with the senior population.
My favorite part of working with seniors is the relationships with not only our residents, but with their families too. I’ve learned and grown so much through the advice I’ve been given, life lessons I’ve been taught, and simply the stories that have been shared with me while spending time with residents.
In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends. The best part of working at Sunrise is the support to carry out our mission to Champion Quality of Life for All Seniors!
Brittany has been a Sunrise team member since 2015. Before coming to Sunrise, she spent several years working in skilled nursing and rehab. For Brittany, the best part of working at Sunrise is getting to work with the teams at Sunrise of Naperville and Sunrise of Naperville North – they are like family. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with her cat, 2 dogs, and fiancée. She loves to be outside with them – hiking, camping, and just playing in the backyard.

Working with seniors is my passion. I enjoy being in their company and learning about their lives and experiences and I am fortunate to do what I love as a career.
In my spare time, I relax by playing golf and exercising, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.

“While in nursing school it became apparent to me early on that my passion is elder care and championing quality of life for all seniors. I have the privilege to learn each resident’s history, know their families and establish their needs. I have the confidence to notice a condition change just by looking at them. I am so grateful to the families for entrusting me with the care of their loved ones.
The Principles of Service nurture my true belief that life is precious. Individualized resident care allows trust to be established. This opens the door for me to get to know the residents physically, emotionally and spiritually. Kata has been a Sunrise Team Member since 2017. Prior to coming to Sunrise, she was the Activity Coordinator at a community for residents with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Her favorite part of the job is working with the residents every day, listening to their stories, and seeing them smile. She feels the best part of working at sunrise is working for a company whose team members truly care about their residents and families.
In her spare time she like to be outside, and spending time with her family.

“I began working at Sunrise two months after the community opened. I love working with the residents because while growing up, my happiest place was at my grandparent’s house where my grandmother taught me how to cook. Working with the residents takes me back to that special place.
At Sunrise, I can do what I love and know that I make a difference in the residents’ lives because they tell me how much they appreciate what I do. The residents share traditional family recipes with me and I prepare those meals for them and it reminds them of their happiest memories. When I first came to Sunrise, I felt welcome and I knew that this was the right place for me. At Sunrise both the residents and the team members are respected and loved. Sunrise is more than just a job, it is like home.”
“More than a place of employment, Sunrise has become a second home for me. It’s a home where I care for the residents as if they were my own grandparents that I never met as a child. When I first began at Sunrise, I knew in my heart that this was the job for me. Not only because I enjoy helping others, but because I knew that working with seniors calls for more than just the desire to help others. It requires understanding, the ability to listen and pay close attention to detail, be a voice of encouragement and, of course, to be able to sing and dance to make someone’s day more positive.
There are many rewards that I have received while working with the elderly that have fulfilled my life. Seniors are enriched with experience and the amazing stories they enjoy sharing teach one to appreciate life itself. Every day as I end my day at Sunrise, I leave with a smile and a content heart because I know that I have given a little of me to more than one person who appreciates what I do. After 14 years, I am still a part of this wonderful community that I am proud to call my second home.”
I am from Albania, and I came to the USA with my family in 2004. I started working for Sunrise in 2006 as a care manager. I have a compassion for elders and strongly believe no one else champions quality of life like Sunrise does for their seniors.
Working with seniors is my passion, and I have been fortunate enough to do what I love as a career. Coming to Sunrise doesn’t really feel like work, as we are one “big family” that enjoys spending time together and serving our residents.
When I am not with my work family, I enjoy spending time with my daughters, reading, shopping, and cooking. My hobby is learning new languages, and I enjoy when it comes in handy to help others translate.
