We invite you to come and see, firsthand, the great opportunities we have to offer your loved one! Through our serving hearts, we live out our mission To Champion Quality of Life for all seniors!
"My name is Angela Cerny and I am so proud to be the Executive Director at Sunrise of Naperville. I have been with Sunrise since August of 2018 starting out at Brighton Gardens of St. Charles as the Associate Executive Director. I filled in as the Interim Executive Director at Sunrise of Flossmoor and Sunrise of Palos Park, until joining Sunrise of Naperville in October of 2019. I have been working with seniors for the last 10 years in Assisted Livings and non-profits in Adult Protective Services and Community Care Programs contracted with the Illinois Department of Aging. . My favorite part of the job is walking into the community every morning to be greeted by our wonderful residents. The best part of working for Sunrise has to be that every day I am able to make a difference in people's lives whether it be big or small. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my 4 wonderful children. I also enjoy hiking, reading and seeing live music and concerts."
"I work with a team of professionals that have caring, serving hearts; and who show compassion to our residents and their families while providing the best care. They exemplify our core values of passion, respect, trust, joy in service and stewardship. The Sunrise team takes a kind-hearted approach to senior care. It’s a value we all share. And we are guided by the same Principles of Service to our residents: encouraging independence, enabling choices, preserving dignity, celebrating individuality, nurturing the spirit, and involving family and friends.
I love knowing that I make a difference every day in the lives of our residents. It is a privilege to work with my team members to champion the quality of life for all seniors through a care-focused environment that allows them to live their life to the fullest. Working with seniors is my passion. I enjoy being in their company and learning about their lives and experiences and I am fortunate to do what I love as a career.
In my spare time, I relax by playing golf and exercising, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.
It is a privilege to work for Sunrise."
Terrin began her career in senior living as a server in an Independent Living Community, which is where she learned that working with seniors was her passion. She started as the Associate Director of Sales in 2018 and was recently promoted to the Director of Sales role.
"In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my pets (furry family). I am an avid traveler, and when it's baseball season, I love cheering on the Cubs!"
"Prior to joining Sunrise, I spent 8 years working in long term care in skilled nursing facilities, with 6 of those years spent as an Assistant Director of Nursing & Director of Nursing. Before going to nursing school, I worked as a Pharmacy Technician in a downstate hospital for 13 years. My favorite part of working at Sunrise is helping our residents live their best lives. I also love getting to know them better and hearing them share their life stories.
When not at Sunrise, I enjoy traveling, gathering with friends, working out, and binge-watching my favorite tv shows & movies."
“The interaction that I have with the residents and my fellow team members daily is rewarding. They are my second family.
The Sunrise mission “To Champion the Quality of Life for All Seniors” and our company’s Core Values of passion, respect, trust, joy in service and stewardship, have all been a part of me since the inception of my Sunrise career. I not only live out these wonderful values during my daily interactions with our residents, families and team members when I am in the community, but I embrace them as a way of life.”
“I began working at Sunrise two months after the community opened. I love working with the residents because while growing up, my happiest place was at my grandparent’s house where my grandmother taught me how to cook. Working with the residents takes me back to that special place.
At Sunrise, I can do what I love and know that I make a difference in the residents’ lives because they tell me how much they appreciate what I do. The residents share traditional family recipes with me and I prepare those meals for them and it reminds them of their happiest memories. When I first came to Sunrise, I felt welcome and I knew that this was the right place for me. At Sunrise both the residents and the team members are respected and loved. Sunrise is more than just a job, it is like home.”
“More than a place of employment, Sunrise has become a second home for me. It’s a home where I care for the residents as if they were my own grandparents that I never met as a child. When I first began at Sunrise, I knew in my heart that this was the job for me. Not only because I enjoy helping others, but because I knew that working with seniors calls for more than just the desire to help others. It requires understanding, the ability to listen and pay close attention to detail, be a voice of encouragement and, of course, to be able to sing and dance to make someone’s day more positive.
There are many rewards that I have received while working with the elderly that have fulfilled my life. Seniors are enriched with experience and the amazing stories they enjoy sharing teach one to appreciate life itself. Every day as I end my day at Sunrise, I leave with a smile and a content heart because I know that I have given a little of me to more than one person who appreciates what I do. After 14 years, I am still a part of this wonderful community that I am proud to call my second home.”
I am from Albania, and I came to the USA with my family in 2004. I started working for Sunrise in 2006 as a care manager. I have a compassion for elders and strongly believe no one else champions quality of life like Sunrise does for their seniors.
Working with seniors is my passion, and I have been fortunate enough to do what I love as a career. Coming to Sunrise doesn’t really feel like work, as we are one “big family” that enjoys spending time together and serving our residents.
When I am not with my work family, I enjoy spending time with my daughters, reading, shopping, and cooking. My hobby is learning new languages, and I enjoy when it comes in handy to help others tranate.
