Welcome to our community! We're pleased to introduce you to some of the team members who make our community a wonderful place to call home.

Margaret Quinn

Executive Director

“I have learned so much during my 12 years serving residents and families at Sunrise. I feel privileged to continue to meet so many amazing members of the ‘Greatest Generation.’ We are all blessed for their sacrifice and hard work serving our country and raising families. Each one deserves to be treated with kindness and respect and offered opportunities for continued learning and growth.

We are a rock solid team here at Sunrise of Paramus and take tremendous pride in caring for the frailest of the frail. Each of us believes in the Sacred Value of Human Life and we all work together to carry out the Sunrise mission every minute of every day.

I am fortunate to live very close by to our community in the same town I grew up in with my husband, Victor, and my beloved dog, Daisy. I have two grown children and an adorable 3-year-old granddaughter who is the light of my life!”


Barbara Mattesich

Director of Sales

“After graduating college, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in the Garment Center. Several years later, I retired my fashion hat to start a family.

When I returned to the work world almost seven years ago, I knew that senior health care was my calling because of my own personal experience. In 1999, after my mom passed, I researched senior living options for my dad as he needed to be in a safe and social setting among his peer group. This was probably one of the most difficult experiences I had been through as an adult.

I believe that each senior I am blessed to meet is a gift to all the generations that follow. I am passionate about my work. I do my best to listen and to educate seniors and their families, and to give them a sense of comfort and confidence so they are able to make informed decisions. I am thrilled and proud to be part of the family here at Sunrise of Paramus. I look forward to meeting and helping many more amazing seniors and their families.”


Judys Cabarcas

Reminiscence Coordinator

“I originally came to Sunrise of Paramus in 2006 and worked as a lead care manager and medication care manager in our Reminiscence Neighborhood. After a brief absence, I returned to Sunrise early in 2013 as the Reminiscence Coordinator.

As Reminiscence Coordinator, my responsibilities are to provide leadership and management of our Reminiscence Neighborhood, and promote the best quality of care to our residents. We want to ensure they are engaged in meaningful activities in order to create pleasant days in our community.

At Sunrise of Paramus, we have built a loyal and successful team. Our team members always celebrate and recognize the achievements of their peers. Everyone participates and contributes to the success of our community and we all work together to champion the quality of life for all seniors.”


Ruby Bernabe

Resident Care Director

“I'm grateful and proud to be part of the great team here at Sunrise of Paramus. My goal is to ensure that we follow the Platinum Rule: we treat you the way that you want to be treated, and not the Golden Rule: we treat you the way we want to be treated.

I worked in assisted living for about nine years as a Charge Nurse, and eventually became a Director of Nursing in an assisted living community specializing in dementia. I love how everyone treats each other like family here at Sunrise.

I have a husband, Bernard, and three children: Thria, JP and Nicole.”


Ara Grigoryan

Dining Services Coordinator

“I was born and raised in Armenia, a small country in southeastern Europe. My father owned a restaurant in Armenia and I come from a family of chefs, so I’ve been cooking my whole life.

After graduating from high school, I entered the Culinary College of Armenia, where I studied for four years. I discovered Sunrise in 2005, when I was hired as a cook. After almost nine years, I was offered the position of Dining Service Coordinator. I have a passion for cooking and I consider myself a family man. Sunrise gave me my second family (my residents).”


Sharon Oliver

Business Office Coordinator

“I came to Sunrise because I had heard that it was such a wonderful place. A place where people truly come together and care for one another and people can feel ‘at home.’ I found my ‘home’ 11 years ago, and I am so glad I did!

As a Business Office Coordinator, my responsibilities are varied. Payroll, hiring the right people, assisting with onboarding new team members, assisting families with monthly billing statements and handling workers’ comp claims are just some of my responsibilities.

I love my job because every day is a different experience. My interactions with the residents make me smile. They appreciate everything we do for them; even the smallest acts of kindness mean so much! When I can solve a problem or put a resident at ease, I know it was a good day at the office.”


Patti Naem

Activity and Volunteer Coordinator

“I’ve been with Sunrise of Paramus since 2013. For two of those years, I was a Life Enrichment Manager in our Reminiscence Neighborhood, where I consistently engaged residents in familiar routines of daily living through personalized life skills that create pleasant days.

Now, as the AVC, I engage our residents on different levels with various types of activities. Being able to work with our residents is a pleasure because I am able to learn from their life experiences.”


Neil Nappi

Maintenance Coordinator

“I joined the Sunrise Senior Living team in December of 2007. Years spent working in fire protection, low voltage computer wiring and nationwide contracting services all contributed to my skill set in maintenance and property management.

Getting to know each of our residents, along with their histories, families and friends is one of the most fulfilling aspects of working for Sunrise. Our multinational team member potluck luncheons are pretty great, too!”
