Executive Director

"I began my career with Sunrise in 2004 as the Assisted Living Coordinator at the Sunrise of Schaumburg community. I am a graduate of the Executive Director in Training Program and became the Executive Director at Sunrise of Schaumburg in February of 2007. In August of 2008, I transferred to the Sunrise of Lincoln Park community and was the Executive Director there for 6 years. I left Sunrise for a couple of years and returned as the Executive Director of the Park Ridge community in February of 2017. I went to school to become a Professional Counselor. Prior to Sunrise, I worked as a Program Manager of a Mental Health Rehabilitation program working with adults and as a Child Social Worker.

Like all the Coordinators at Sunrise of Park Ridge, I have an open door policy. Working directly with residents, family members, and team members is my passion. I am so proud to be part of an organization that has been a pioneer in the industry and continues to be a “trail blazer” for the Senior Living movement.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two Dachshunds, Mardi and Felix. Last year, I bought an RV travel trailer, and we like to take it on road trips to go camping."

"I have been working with the senior population for more than a decade. I am passionate about being a resource for our families and residents and want to ensure they feel right at home.

I love taking a few minutes to sit down with our residents to hear stories of their past or how their day is going and jokes. My friends are jealous because I’ve inherited twenty times the grandparents they all have!”

Resident Care Director

My job has multiple roles as a nurse, manager, preceptor, teacher, trainer and instructor. The favorite part of my job is managing the health care needs of the residents with a holistic approach to care.

The best part of working for Sunrise is the joy of working for a company with a mission to champion the quality of life for all seniors backed by Principles of Service and Core values.

In my spare time, my leisure activities include coaching the kids’ soccer team and watching old cowboy movies.

“The residents at Sunrise have been good to me. They’ve taught me many things over the years. Working at Sunrise gives me the opportunity to do what I like to do, which is to help people regardless of their race, creed, religion, etc. to which they may belong. I love the diversity of our residents and staff.

Being in this profession for so many years, I have a sense of accomplishment and I have Sunrise to thank for that. Nothing compares to Sunrise when it comes to achieving my goals. I get to be a part of a company that not only offers the best senior living care, but one that takes care of its employees.”

“I am a very social person and I love seniors. Being a lead care manager at Sunrise allows me to get to know our seniors and listen to their stories while working with a great team in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. We really care for our residents here – it’s a passion.”

Assisted Living Coordinator

Joined Sunrise in 2000

I have worked for Sunrise for 19 years. I started as a Care Manager at the Sunrise of Park Ridge community working part-time on the overnight shift. I became a Lead Care Manager as well as a Medication Care Manager. In 2001, I was promoted to the Assisted Living Coordinator position. Prior to working at Sunrise, I was a Special Education Teacher.

Getting to know my residents is what I enjoy the most about my position. Learning their life stories helps me to understand them better to ensure we are able to improve their quality of life. We are an additional support system for the families.

What I like best is that I truly enjoy coming to work each day. Working with such a great team of professionals, who are supportive of one another and share similar goals of caring for the residents, is such a rewarding experience for me.

In my spare time, I really love to curl up with a great book. I enjoy both fiction and historical novels.

“Working with our residents is not just a job - it’s caring for someone who needs you, like how I would for my own family. I am here to help them, to protect them, to make them feel safe and to make them feel cared for. I work at Sunrise because I love the feeling of home and family when I come to work every day, and because of the Principles of Service that we get to practice every day.”

George is a Great Dane who became a resident of Sunrise of Park Ridge in the fall of 2018. He is a rescue from a shelter, but you would never guess that Sunrise is not his original home, as he has full reign of the building. Great Dane’s are known as “Gentle Giants,” and George fits that description perfectly! The residents love spending time with him, and that feeling is mutual; George will never turn away a treat or a scratch behind the ear.

When you visit, if you see him patiently waiting by the elevator, just hit the up button; he will get on himself and choose whichever floor he prefers at that time! He lives here permanently, so be sure to say hello!
