Executive Director

"I began my career with Sunrise in 2013 at Sunrise at Holladay, as an Associate Executive Director. I was then offered an Executive Director position with Sunrise in Washington State. I was the Executive Director at Sunrise of Edmonds for four years, when the opportunity to relocate to Texas became available in 2018. I look forward to the new opportunity to serve you at Sunrise of Plano.

I love the opportunity to get to know the residents and learn about their amazing lives. Our residents are amazing people and I feel so thankful I am able to assist in their care.

In my spare time, I enjoy my time with my wife, and five children, who keep my wife and I very busy. My wife, who grew up in College Station, TX and my oldest daughter who was born there are both excited to be home in Texas. My father in-law was a professor at Texas A&M for 25 years so we are Aggie fans by default."

Director of Sales

"I began my career with Sunrise at our Frisco location as the concierge. After a few years I moved to Sunrise of Plano as the Associate Director of Sales and was promoted to Director of Sales. My favorite part of my job is working with families and seniors to be a resource for them. I really love that the Sunrise of Plano team takes pride in delivering high quality care with a personal touch.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading and baking."

Director of Sales

"I have been with Sunrise of Plano since 2012 and have held several positions, but my current position as Director of Sales is my very favorite! I am truly a “people person” and love serving all of the families that walk through the door of our community. Helping families find peace-of-mind with solutions to their complex needs brings me great joy each and every day—I cannot think of any other place I’d rather be!

I’m originally from Los Angeles, California. My career has spanned from working in the corporate environment, raising my two beautiful daughters, to volunteering at Sunrise when I fell in love with the senior living industry and Sunrise of Plano.

Outside of work I keep an active lifestyle and enjoy exercise, travel, cooking, puttering in my garden, arts & crafts projects and spending time with my precious family and friends."

Sophia Musopelo

Health Care Manager

"I was born and raised in Lusaka in Zambia, Southern Africa and came to the United States in 2005. I began my career with Sunrise of Plano, in 2009, as a Medication Care Manager. During this time, I went to Nursing School and graduated with honors as a Solitarian to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. After graduating, I transitioned into the role of a Wellness Nurse. Soon after, I transitioned to my current role as a Healthcare Manager. I am currently working towards achieving my Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing.

What I love the most about Sunrise is that our residents, their loved ones and the entire team have become my family and home away from home. 
In my spare time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends."

Assisted Living Coordinator

"After almost 20 years in the field of Environmental Health Regulations, I seized the opportunity to follow my heart. I joined the Sunrise team in February 2018.  Having a nurse as a mother, our home was the place where many came for loving care. It was inevitable that the seeds she planted would grow. Leaving a job, to pursue my passion, allows me to fill my day caring for and loving our seniors. 

I enjoy spending time with the residents and team members where making the best of each moment is our focus. Listening to the residents share their stories, their fears and their unfiltered jokes is the most endearing part of my day.  

When I’m apart from our Sunrise residents, I take time to read, write and travel."

Business Office Coordinator

"I have been the Business Office Coordinator at Sunrise of Plano since it’s opening in June 2006.  Prior to Sunrise, I spent 12 years in office management and accounting. I worked in various industries, from sheet metal manufacturing to banking.  I hold a degree in accounting.

I truly enjoy getting to know our residents and hearing their stories and their memories.  I also enjoy getting to know and working with our families.  Each person who comes into my office is someone who deserves nothing but the best customer service I can give him or her.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching movies with my husband, and spending time with my family and my 2 dogs."

Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

I have worked for Sunrise since 2015.  I started at Sunrise of Gurnee in Illinois as a Lead Care Manager and Life Enrichment Manager, then transferred to Sunrise of Park Ridge where I was an Activities Assistant and Concierge.  In July 2017 I started as the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator here at Sunrise of Plano. My favorite part of my job is how much I get to learn from the residents.  They each have a unique story that shapes who they are and they have experienced so much of history.  I love sitting with them and learning about their lives and what they have seen and done.

The best part of Sunrise is that it feels like a family, both with the residents and team members.  I have an easy job because I get to come to work every day and spend time with the people I love.

In my free time I like to play board games and try all the good food in Dallas.

Dining Services Coordinator

"I began my career with Sunrise at Fountain Square in Lombard, Illinois in 2013, after selling my Italian restaurants in the Northwest Chicago suburbs. Our son was a student in Dallas and after a visit; my wife and I took a leap of faith and decided to make a move to the great state of Texas. 

I have been at Sunrise of Plano ever since serving as Dining Services Coordinator and the Cluster Dining Services Coordinator, supporting Texas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.  I have over 45 years’ experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry, and am a Lifetime Member of the prestigious United States Chef Association.  

My favorite part about working at Sunrise is being able to serve up some Texas hospitality and great food to our residents they are family to me!"

John Erlandson—Team Member since 2010

John Erlandson

Director of Environmental Services

"I began my career with Sunrise in 2004, in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. From 2007-2010, I ventured toward the theme park industry, assisting in the opening Hard Rock Park and Free Style Park in Myrtle Beach. During that time I truly missed the work I did at Sunrise and so, I returned in 2010 to Sunrise of Plano. I enjoy my job, especially meeting new residents and family members. I enjoy listening to residents talk about their lives. I have learned so much from their stories. When they smile, it makes working here even more rewarding. I served in the Navy from 1982 to 1995 as machinist mate first class. I have sailed around the world three times and have worked on many different vessels.

Sunrise has taught me that no two days are the same. The smiles and hellos make life and the work so much better.

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my family and close friends, watching sports and going to the gym."
