At Sunrise of Schaumburg, we pride ourselves on providing our residents an excellent dining experience. We use scratch cooking techniques to bring out the natural flavors of food so that excessive salt and fat are not needed and use seasonal produce in many of our recipes.
Our community favorite and most requested dish is the Waldorf Chicken Salad, and many of our residents enjoy our delicious and nutritious versions of comfort food meals such as mac and cheese, tuna noodle casserole and BBQ ribs.
We love celebrating holidays and prepare a special menu for each. You’ll find brunches complete with interactive food stations for Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas. Our residents always look forward to our traditional Thanksgiving feast complete with turkey and all the fixings. Our St. Patrick’s Day celebration wouldn’t be complete without corn beef and cabbage and Independence Day is celebrated with delicious food from the grill! Our community also enjoys monthly Family Nights which are usually country themed complete with ethnic food and entertainment.
Our dining services coordinator, Russell Koc, who is at the helm of our Dining team, graduated from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, Le Cordon Bleu. His experience in the kitchen has ranged from small catering jobs to large restaurants s such as Capi’s located at Navy Pier. Russell joined our community in 2008 and feels fortunate to have formed relationships with our residents and team members that are beyond compare. We couldn’t agree more!
