At Sunrise of Schaumburg, we pride ourselves on providing our residents an excellent dining experience. We use scratch cooking techniques to bring out the natural flavors of food so that excessive salt and fat are not needed and use seasonal produce in many of our recipes.
Our community favorite and most requested dish is our Chicken Salad, and many of our residents enjoy our variety of delicious dishes including shrimp and nutritious versions of comfort food meals such as meatloaf dinners and mac and cheese.
We love celebrating holidays and prepare a very special menu for each. You will find brunches complete with interactive food stations for Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas. Our residents always look forward to our traditional Thanksgiving feast complete with turkey and all the fixings. We celebrate Valentine’s Day with candlelight dinner and live entertainment. Our St. Patrick’s Day celebration would not be complete without corn beef and cabbage, and on Father’s Day we love to BBQ! Our Annual Luau is always a highlight of the summer with live Polynesian dancers accompanied with a splendid Hawaiian menu.
Our Dining Services Coordinator, Carlos Perez, is at the helm of our Dining team. His experience in the kitchen has ranged from catering jobs with hundreds of guests to well-known restaurants including The Drake Hotel in Chicago. His portfolio includes many other restaurants in the city. Due to his passion for seniors which is where he started early in his career, Carlos joined Sunrise in 2009 and has been at our community since 2014. He feels fortunate to have formed relationships with our residents and team members that are beyond compare. We could not agree more!
