We are pleased to introduce you to some of the members of our outstanding team who work tirelessly to make our community a wonderful place to call home.
"I began working at Sunrise in July 2008. What I love about working at Sunrise is that I am able to impact my residents lives in a positive way, as well, make the work environment fun and rewarding as we all work towards our common mission which is “To Champion the Quality of Life for all Seniors”. I embrace all of the Principles of Service but my favorite one is: “Preserving Dignity”. Every human being deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. To look in to the eyes of my residents and know that how I treat them is how I want my parents treated is why I have been doing what I have considered my life’s work for the past 40 years. When I am not at work I enjoy visiting my family in Hawaii and Utah, I love to read and create works of art, and I enjoy taking long walks with my husband and going to the movies."
"I have just started working at Sunrise of Scottsdale. I highly respect the company’s core values: Passion, Joy in Service, Stewardship, Respect and Trust. As a Registered Nurse I am committed to my passion which is to Serve People. This is a commitment to excellence in everything I do. In my heart I know who I am, where I am, who I serve, and this allows me to fulfill my purpose in life. In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities: traveling, gardening, hiking, photography and tennis."
"I have been with Sunrise for just over 1 year but have worked in senior healthcare for over 9 years. I love working at Sunrise because our staff is very dedicated and our residents are simply the best! Nurturing the Spirit is my favorite principle of service as I believe it to be one of the most important things we can do for our beloved seniors and it can be done in a variety of ways, each day, for each resident, throughout the day. In my free time, I enjoy time with my family, watching my children play sports, camping, entertaining in my home, and traveling."
"I have worked for Sunrise since October 2008. I love what I do, with the residents being the highlight of why I do it. They make my world brighter, every day is a new day and I know that I am making a difference. To share the last years of our resident’s lives with them is an honor. My favorite Principle of Service is “Celebrating Individuality”. Celebrating each resident as an individual is the key and success to a happy resident. Everyone, no matter what their age, wants to feel special in their own way. When I am not at work I enjoy my family and love to travel and create new adventures."
"I have been working at Sunrise since December 11, 2007. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is when I get to interact with the residents. I enjoy listening to their stories and getting to know them. At Sunrise we base our care on 6 Principles of Service and my favorite is, “Involving Family and Friends”. I love to watch the residents and their happy faces when we hold in-house events and their loved ones join in. When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and watching movies."
"I have been working for Sunrise since September 2013. I pride myself on providing a safe and healthy environment for our residents, while staying abreast of the changing regulatory codes. My favorite part of working at Sunrise is meeting the needs of the community and the joy I get when I fulfill the needs of the residents. Sunrise does a great job of Championing the Quality of Life for our residents. Their needs are the primary goal and it is nice to share this goal with the rest of our team. When I am not at work, I dedicate my time to God and family. I enjoy the grandchildren and relaxing with my wife. I also enjoy exploring our state and learning more about Arizona."
"I am a graduate from Scottsdale Culinary Institute with a Bachelor’s in Culinary Arts and Hotel Management. I have been cooking professionally for 14 years with various experiences in hotels, resorts and senior living communities. One of my favorite things about my job is meeting new residents and building friendships. I take great pride in my meal preparation, I believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity and I enjoy learning about everyone’s different backgrounds, stories and memories. When I am not working I love spending time with my two daughters. I also enjoy fishing, camping, playing golf, traveling, watching football (go Raiders and U of A) and spending time with my family."
