Alongside these honors, we have officially finalized the 2026 renewal of our key environmental wellness certifications.
Verified Health, Safety, and Inclusion
For the fourth consecutive year, Sunrise has successfully renewed the WELL Health-Safety Rating at scale. Upholding these ratings means our communities consistently meet rigorous, independent standards, including:
- Advanced Air Quality Management: Ensuring cleaner, healthier indoor air for residents and team members.
- Elevated Sanitization Practices: Maintaining strict protocols to keep daily living environments safe.
- Proactive Emergency Preparedness: Ensuring our teams are thoroughly equipped and trained for any situation.
Additionally, we have renewed the WELL Equity Rating for the third consecutive year. As the first senior living provider to achieve this distinction at scale, we continue to lead our industry in physical accessibility, inclusive design, and fostering environments where everyone feels a deep sense of belonging.
Two communities also hold individual WELL Certifications: The Apsley holds permanent WELL Certification Platinum status, representing the highest possible tier of recognition from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), and Sunrise at East 56th maintains permanent WELL Certification Silver status.

Our environmental wellness strategy extends deeply into sustainable operations:
- ENERGY STAR® Certifications: Currently, 55 of our communities hold active certifications for exceptional energy performance and environmental responsibility.
- LEED Certifications: The Apsley and Sunrise of Coral Gables hold permanent LEED Gold status for sustainable building design and eco-friendly operations, while Sunrise at East 56th maintains permanent LEED Silver status.
