We’re proud to announce our national partnership with the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA)—combining nearly 45 years of industry-leading senior living expertise with APDA’s mission to improve the lives of those affected by this complex condition. Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological disease, impacting nearly 90,000 Americans each year. Sunrise has always been committed to delivering high-quality care. Through this partnership, we aim to expand resources and education for our residents living with Parkinson’s and their families.

How Sunrise Delivers High-Quality Care

At Sunrise, we believe that every resident deserves care tailored to their unique needs. Our approach to Parkinson’s care focuses on personalized plans and engaging programming to enhance quality of life.

We’re pleased to offer the following services in our assisted living and memory care communities to help residents living with Parkinson’s disease—as well as those managing other health needs:

  • Designated Care Manager (DCM) Program: The DCM program is designed to provide care with early health change detection for residents
  • Medication Management: Trained Med Care Managers administer medications with strong privacy and structured procedures to help ensure safety
  • Individualized Service Plans: ISPs are based on thorough evaluations incorporating resident preferences and medical information for personalized care
  • CareConnect Electronic Records: Sunrise CareConnect system enhances care coordination and access to health records among providers who round in the community

How the APDA Supports People Living with Parkinson’s

The American Parkinson’s Disease Association is the largest grassroots organization dedicated to fighting Parkinson’s disease and improving the lives of those affected. For over 60 years, the organization has funded research, promoted awareness, and supported individuals and families by offering nationwide programs, local chapters, and educational resources.

Shaping the Future of Parkinson’s Support Together

In 2026, Sunrise and APDA will collaborate on education initiatives, community events, and caregiver resources to raise awareness and improve quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s.
