Meet the Sunrise at Reston Town Center Team

We are pleased to introduce you to some of the members of our outstanding team who work tirelessly to make our community a wonderful place to call home.

Jennifer StiltnerJennifer Stiltner, MHA, ALFA, RN, NE-BC

Executive Director

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Jennifer has been in healthcare since 1995. She is a Registered Nurse and also holds a Masters Degree in Health Administration. Prior to joining the Sunrise family, Jennifer has been working as a Nurse Leader in Assisted Living, Home Health, Hospital, and Skilled Nursing, in the Northern Virginia area. Jennifer has always loved caring for others, and is especially passionate about working with seniors!

What she loves most about Senior Living, is making connections with the residents; getting to know them and their families, and doing all she can to help tailor their care to provide them with dignity and respect while supporting them to meet each individual's unique needs. Not only is Jennifer passionate about serving her residents, she is also enthusiastic about serving the team members that are caring for the residents. She does this through coaching, mentorship, and fostering teamwork, so that everyone is well-equipped, with the knowledge, skills, and resources, to serve our residents.

When she is not at work, enjoying time with her residents and team, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, Liam and Maddison.


alton wardAlton Ward

Director of Sales

Originally from Houston, Texas, Alton moved to Northern Virginia to attend graduate school at Georgetown University. He has spent the last ten years working in senior living, primarily in business development, sales, and marketing roles. Most recently, Alton served on the sales and marketing team at another local Continuing Care Retirement Community in Northern Virginia.

Outside of work, Alton enjoys traveling, swimming, spending time with family and friends, and visiting local dog parks with his miniature schnauzer, Tucker.


Deborah PorterDeborah Porter

Director of Sales

Prior to joining Sunrise, Deborah spent the past 20 plus years developing her career in Catering and Event Sales in the hotel industry. Although hospitality and senior living may seem quite different at first glance, there are a considerable amount of similarities between these two industries with one common ground – they serve people. Throughout her career, Deborah has had the privilege of working in a role that has allowed her to provide exceptional customer service and memorable experiences for countless guests and clients.

As Director of Sales for Sunrise at Reston Town Center, Deborah is most excited about the opportunity to focus her energies in service to prospective residents and their families by helping them find the perfect home for their loved ones. With genuine care and compassion, Deborah believes we can help our families with these important decisions, all the while providing emotional support and guidance. Deborah says she was "moved by the Sunrise story and how it was founded with the purpose of championing quality of life for the people it serves". She is excited to bring her experience and skillset to this vision.

In her personal time, Deborah loves camping with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys singing in her church praise band and Joyful Noise choir, as well as playing hand bells with the Grace Note Ringers.


April SmithApril Smith

Reminiscence Coordinator

April has been in the healthcare field for over 28 years - specializing in geriatric and memory care.

She is passionate about making sure all our residents receive the best care possible. April loves working as a team daily to make sure each person is fulfilled as a whole person in all areas. She is proud to work at Sunrise where we champion the quality of life for all seniors.

When April is at home, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 26 years, Rick, and their 2 children, Sandra and Rickey.


amy odiAmy Odi, RN, MBA/MHA

Resident Care Director

A healthcare professional for more than 15 years, Amy Odi is a Certified Registered Nurse who holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a dual master’s degree in Business Administration and Health Care Administration. Before joining the Sunrise family, Amy was a nurse leader in Hospital Case Management and Healthcare Finance in the Washington DC area. Amy is a standard-driven individual who always sets high expectations for herself and her team. With her deep passion for serving and caring for people, Amy thrives when supporting others to reach their goals.

One of Amy’s principles is, “We are all the seniors of tomorrow. So only in providing exceptional nursing care for our today seniors will we guarantee hope for us to get the same treatment in the future.”


Sandra NavarroSandra Navarro

Activities and Volunteer Coordinator

Sandra has been with Sunrise since she was 5 years old! Her mother and stepfather worked here many years ago. They would bring Sandra to the family and team holiday parties, the BBQs, and if they just need to drop something off. Sandra remembers when there was an outdoor event which included a farm on the side with goats and rabbits. Sandra started working at Sunrise at Reston Town Center in 2014 as the concierge. She enjoyed working at the front desk because residents would come to her with questions or any concerns, or just to chat. She became the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator in 2020.

Her favorite part of her job is doing socials with the residents - there's nothing better than socializing when there’s food involved!

Outside of work, Sandra enjoys spending time with her son. The two of them enjoy fishing, playing basketball, and going on walks.

"As the Business Office Coordinator since 2005, I have enjoyed getting to know all of the residents. My favorite Sunrise Principle of Service is Celebrating Individuality. Every resident has a unique personality and it is exciting to see how they interact with each other and with team members."



daniel yupanquiDaniel Yupanqui

Dining Services Coordinator

Daniel has been working with Sunrise Senior Living since 2007 in different locations and is proud to now be a part of the Reston community. Since starting in the culinary field, Daniel has been passionate about the cooking art. It is delightful to see the residents eat and enjoy the food, which always makes his day. Daniel also enjoys cooking outdoors on the grill on special occasions and bringing new ideas to the table.

Outside of work, he spends time with his wife and two kids, and in his free time, he plays basketball and enjoys running.
