We are pleased to introduce you to some of the members of our outstanding team who work tirelessly to make our community a wonderful place to call home.
"I have had the pleasure of supporting multiple Sunrise Senior Living communities in Northern Virginia. In my role as Executive Director, I enjoy the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents, families, and team members.Working in this unique setting provides such a fulfilling experience both professionally and personally.
One of my favorite aspects of serving our residents is learning about their lives and listening to all the life stories they often share. I am honored to work for an organization such as Sunrise because our mission of Championing the Quality of Life for All Seniors is truly at the center of every decision that is made."
"I have worked at Sunrise since August of 2018 but have close to 20 years of experience in various aspects of senior care. Most recently, I was the Executive Director of a non-profit that provides free home repairs and aging in place modifications to low-income seniors. Prior to that, I was an Aging in Place Consultant, and I worked for Home Instead Senior Care as a Marketing Director.
My favorite part of my job is building relationships, having a positive impact in someone’s life, and providing help and compassion during one of life’s most difficult transitions. I also love that every day is different! I love getting to know our residents; they each have their own special qualities. I also think that our team is top notch, I feel very blessed to be able to work with them!
My husband and I are both Master Gardeners, and I love to travel!"
"To champion quality of life for all seniors is the Sunrise mission. Through this mission, I am able to help meet the needs of our residents and families using a holistic approach, while also being instrumental in developing our team members to do the same. The joy and passion for serving our community keeps me going as we champion all seniors."
"I have enjoyed working with so many families and my main focus is ensuring our residents are receiving high-quality care and stimulating engagement. Nurturing the Spirit is essential to resident quality of life. I am very passionate about training team members on how to understand different forms of communication and seeing successful results when providing care to our residents.
It’s easy to come to the community each day knowing that Sunrise puts the residents first and live out the mission on a daily basis: to champion the quality of life for all seniors. There is no greater peace than knowing your loved one is in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment. I love that I can be a part of that."
"It is with great pleasure that I am able to bring Sunrise Senior Living to more families. I enjoy serving families who need guidance on the journey with their loved ones. We are truly a community partner that has helpful resources in planning for next steps with your loved one.
When I first started as a member of the Sunrise at Reston Town Center team as a Designated Care Manager, I knew this was the community and culture that continues to nourish the lives of our residents. I look forward to sharing our unique community with you."
"I am a native of Northern Virginia. I began my career at Sunrise Senior Living as a volunteer in 2000. I recently celebrated 17 years as Activities and Volunteer Coordinator at Sunrise at Reston Town Center.
My lifelong passion and determination as an artist has led to my status as a juried artist at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria. When I’m not at Sunrise or working in my studio, I enjoy walking the trails around Lake Anne, practicing yoga, and visiting with my Mom.
As Activities Coordinator at Sunrise, nothing is more pleasing or rewarding to me than witnessing a special moment with a resident and knowing I have made a difference in someone’s day!"
"I have worked at Sunrise at Reston Town Center since 2000. Prior to Sunrise Senior Living, I was a Corporate Chef for the Limited Corp. in Reynoldsburg Ohio, and was a Garde Manger Sous Chef for Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus Ohio.
I love that I can provide our residents with many fresh, healthy seasonal menu options. Cooking for seniors is my passion. I am devoted to my residents, families, and team members and enjoy working at Sunrise at Reston Town Center every single day. My favorite part of the job is working with a culturally diverse group of people, the team members, residents and their families. The best part of the job here at Sunrise is knowing at the end of the day I was able to make a difference in someone’s life, and that it was for the better.
In my spare time I enjoy music, working out, and volunteering for a local Boy Scout troop and Buddhist temple."
"As the Business Office Coordinator since 2005, I have enjoyed getting to know all of the residents. My favorite Sunrise Principle of Service is Celebrating Individuality. Every resident has a unique personality and it is exciting to see how they interact with each other and with team members."
I have had the honor to be a Sunrise team member since 2005. I am proud to be part of the Sunrise team where there is a purpose for every role. I enjoy coming to work each day knowing that I make a difference in so many lives."
