Sunrise of Falls Church

My dad moved in last month for respite to see if he wanted to live there. The apartment was nice but the real deal-clencher is the staff here; they always go above and beyond to help care for my dad and make him feel included. I am sure I am forgetting folks but Leona, Yolanda, Judith, Marisela, Lindalu, Greymond, and Max have all been simply wonderful. I really appreciate having such caring people look after my dad!

Loved it. Great management. Great care. Would feel very good about our loved one being here. Just may need to go to an in network tacitly for insurance.

It seems like a nice, friendly community, the rooms seem old but clean. The main thing I think my sister would like is the main floor with a patio and grass. She isn’t ready to make a move yet.

The staff was always very attentive. Some did better with activities than others but overall good. In my opinion they fed her too many carbs and too generous servings and too many sweets. My sister gained too much weight as she always finished her meals. We had them put her on a reduced calorie diet. They accommodated her private dancing lessons once a week by moving furniture around. The private room we put her in at first was very spacious but we painted the walls and moved in her bedroom furniture to make it look like home. She was in memory care.

I was greatly impressed by the facility, and feel this would be a nice place to live. The facility was clean, and well maintained.

The overall experience was very good. The front desk staff was nice and offered me something to drink. The facility itself was clean and appeared to offer a lot for all residents. I had to wait for 5-7 minutes, although had an appointment. The other concern that I had was that they do not routinely lock resident rooms; they typically leave it up to the resident to lock the rooms. I would be concerned with residents wandering in each others' rooms which lends itself to things going missing. However, their staff to resident ratio was good, so perhaps this assists with preventing that. There was an odd smell in the Memory Care unit, but not as unpleasant as others I have been in. I noticed it more because the remainder of the facility did not have that smell.

Our assigned rep, [name removed], was amazing, helping us to narrow our search to Sunrise Mountain Lakes. The facility is newer, looks nice, and is clean; everyone is warm and friendly; the rooms are bright and cozy; and the food is very good. Sunrise ML has gone out of their way to make my Dad feel comfortable and has encouraged him to participate in activities; he has been raving about the staff and food. It was a surprisingly smooth transition.

Excited to begin this new chapter and grateful to God for placing such wonderful people in my life.

I always love singing for the residents here. It’s a wonderful, welcoming community of people. Overall the staff have been good to work with.

The interior is bright, airy and inviting. The building, inside and outside, is well kept. There are several lovely places to sit and visit outside. The residents appear to be happy there. I made an instant connection with the sales person, who gave me some very helpful information about the VA.

They say, "it's the people who make the difference," and after our family's experience at Sunrise of Oakville, I couldn't agree more. While the residence itself is beautiful, what truly makes this place exceptional is the incredible team who care for its residents every day. We learned that the kindness, dignity and personal attention of the staff are what transform a residence into a true home. When looking for the right place for my father-in-law, John Martinez, our priority wasn't simply finding a comfortable residence, it was finding a place where he would be treated with the dignity, respect, kindness and compassion he had earned over a lifetime. Sunrise of Oakville exceeded every expectation we had. Every member of the staff made John feel valued, cared for and genuinely known as an individual. Their warmth, patience and personalized attention gave our family tremendous peace of mind, knowing he was surrounded by people who truly cared about his well-being. Every day after one of our many visits, we left feeling he was being cared for like family. We want to extend a very special thank you to Danielle, Meghan and their incredible team, whose compassion and genuine affection for John were evident from the very beginning. Danielle's kindness, along with the joy that her dogs brought during their visits, created moments of comfort and happiness that meant so much to him and our family. Thank you to everyone at Sunrise of Oakville for treating John with such humanity, respect and love. We will always be grateful for the care you provided and would wholeheartedly recommend your community to any family looking for a place where their loved one will truly feel at home. Thank you!

The visit was incredibly informative. Unfortunately, the available unit was much too small. Otherwise, Sunrise seemed to be a very nice facility.
