We’re expanding operations and welcoming brighter days.
Meet some of the exemplary members of our team here at Sunrise of Springfield, VA.
"I am a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with over 10 years of experience working in long term care settings. I am experienced in providing care to patients and residents of private and state-owned long-term care facilities which include skilled nursing facilities, chronically ill hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, assisted/independent living facilities, group homes, and retirement communities. It has been my lifelong passion to provide resident centered care and improve the way that we take care of our older adults. My favorite part about working at Sunrise is having the opportunity to connect with our residents. Our residents are full of interesting stories and most of all wisdom.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, volunteering with my sorority, and spending time with my love ones."
"I have over 4 years of professional experience in Senior Living as a Move-In Coordinator and Sales Manager with more than 20 years in customer relations. I enjoy the team members and the community environment here at Sunrise. I was born and raised in the Washington-Metro area and served in the United States Air Force as a Fire Fighter for 4 years. I am an animal lover like most here at the community and have two cats (Bruce and Dory).
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, reading, music, cooking, traveling, and watching movies."
"I graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science and received my certification as a Recreational Therapist soon after. I moved to Lynchburg and started my career in healthcare in a skilled nursing and assisted living facility. I then returned to my hometown of Springfield with a passion to continue my work with older adults.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, hiking, trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with my family."
“I realized my fulfillment in helping seniors when I was the main care provider for my mom, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and my dad, who was diagnosed with dementia. During those trying months, I made it my mission to keep their spirits high and sense of self intact. The time spent with them helped guide me to join the Sunrise of Springfield team and help others enjoy their golden years, which grew to be my passion.
I joined the team in 2004 ready to embark on a journey to help encourage independence and freedom of choice for our residents. The joy this brought me on a daily basis assisted in my growth with the company. It has become my goal to ‘champion the quality of life for all seniors."
"I am the Resident Care Director here at Sunrise of Springfield. I began my career with Sunrise in 2017, as a Wellness Nurse. I have been in nursing for 10 years, and am so honored to share my talents, in this way. One of the best parts about being a Nurse is getting to work with diverse groups of people. It is my passion to serve residents and educate them regarding their health related issues. I love building collaborative relationships that improve continuity of care with our residents and their families, my fellow coordinators, doctors, nurses and care professionals. They say – “You must have a big heart to serve seniors,” - my heart is full! There is no greater feeling of gratitude and satisfaction than when I am serving others.
In my free time, I enjoy going for walks with my family and our dog, listening to music, dinner outings and shopping with my daughters, who are my best friends."
"I began my career with Sunrise in 2011 as a medication technician. It did not take me long to realize that working with seniors is what I want to do, for the rest of my career. While working at Sunrise, I earned my LPN license and became a full time Wellness Nurse.
This summer, I was promoted to Reminiscence Coordinator. I am so excited to embark on this new journey with the residents, in our memory care neighborhood. Throughout my career with Sunrise, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, which I bring to this new role. Being able to utilize my nursing skills is an added bonus. Everyday, I strive to preserve the dignity of my residents and help bring joy to their days! I love working with the team here at Sunrise of Springfield and making a difference in the lives of those we serve."
"I have heard many good things about Sunrise and I was eager to join the team. When the opportunity arose, I quickly jumped on it. Some of my hobbies include event planning, traveling, and spending time with family and friends."
"I joined Sunrise in April 2011 and have worked in 3 different Sunrise communities since then. At Sunrise of Springfield, we offer them all the meals they need and we know that is an important part of their day as they love to socialize. Our delicious meals come to enrich that moment!
