They say, "it's the people who make the difference," and after our family's experience at Sunrise of Oakville, I couldn't agree more. While the residence itself is beautiful, what truly makes this place exceptional is the incredible team who care for its residents every day. We learned that the kindness, dignity and personal attention of the staff are what transform a residence into a true home. When looking for the right place for my father-in-law, John Martinez, our priority wasn't simply finding a comfortable residence, it was finding a place where he would be treated with the dignity, respect, kindness and compassion he had earned over a lifetime. Sunrise of Oakville exceeded every expectation we had. Every member of the staff made John feel valued, cared for and genuinely known as an individual. Their warmth, patience and personalized attention gave our family tremendous peace of mind, knowing he was surrounded by people who truly cared about his well-being. Every day after one of our many visits, we left feeling he was being cared for like family. We want to extend a very special thank you to Danielle, Meghan and their incredible team, whose compassion and genuine affection for John were evident from the very beginning. Danielle's kindness, along with the joy that her dogs brought during their visits, created moments of comfort and happiness that meant so much to him and our family. Thank you to everyone at Sunrise of Oakville for treating John with such humanity, respect and love. We will always be grateful for the care you provided and would wholeheartedly recommend your community to any family looking for a place where their loved one will truly feel at home. Thank you!

The visit was incredibly informative. Unfortunately, the available unit was much too small. Otherwise, Sunrise seemed to be a very nice facility.

When the decision was made to move my mom to a retirement home, I dove into the search full force. My sister and I toured at least 8 facilities, asked many questions, read reviews, etc. When we first met with Kristen at Sunrise Oakville, we knew this place was really something special. What it lacked in the new modern bells and whistles(pool, theatre, etc), it made up tenfold in the people that work here. Absolutely everyone has been incredible. Danielle, in particular made me feel so confident that this was the right place for my mom. She truly cares deeply for all the residents and her staff, and is such a genuine person as is everyone. Many of the care staff have been with sunrise for 10, 15 years which says so much. The residents are assigned regular caregivers who get to know them and they become comfortable with them. My mom moved in October 1, and has settled in so much better than I expected! One of her main caregivers is Anna, who has been there for 15 years. She is a beautiful, kind, genuine soul who is a godsend for my mom. We feel so lucky to have her. Everyone else goes above and beyond as well. There is live music every week and when I was sitting with my mom during a concert I couldn’t help but notice the staff rubbing the shoulders of residents, dancing with them, showing so much care. This truly is a family. My mom was resistant for years to leaving her home but she said to me in the first week, “this has been really easy for me.” I can’t express how happy I am that we chose Sunrise. My stress has been lifted so much as I know how well cared for my mom is, and at the end of the day, that is the most important aspect of any care facility, the care. A gigantic thank you from the bottom of my heart for everyone at Sunrise for welcoming my mom with open arms. If you are looking for a care home for a loved one, please know that this is by far the best place we could have ever hoped for.

There are simply no words that can fully express what Sunrise Senior Living in Westlake Village, CA has meant to my family. During one of the most difficult seasons of our lives, they became so much more than a place where my parents lived… they became a place where they were genuinely known, loved, and cared for with extraordinary compassion. The kindness we experienced here is something our family will carry with us forever. Both of my parents spent the final chapter of their lives here. They moved in together while both were on hospice, and after my mom passed, my dad moved to another apartment in the same community. Throughout every step of that journey, the care they received, and the love our entire family felt, was beyond anything we could have imagined. This is, without question, the nicest assisted living community I’ve ever experienced. Every single member of the staff treated my parents with genuine kindness, compassion, patience, respect, and a deep commitment to preserving their dignity. Their smiles weren’t part of the job, they were real. Their empathy was real. The relationships they built with my parents and our family were real. After my mom passed, the support my dad received was extraordinary. The staff didn’t just continue caring for him physically; they surrounded him with friendship, encouragement, and love during one of the hardest times of his life. They also cared deeply for our family, offering comfort, understanding, and support that we’ll never forget. Sunrise didn’t simply meet our expectations, they exceeded them in every possible way. They created an environment where residents are truly known, valued, and loved. You can see it in every interaction, every conversation, and every act of kindness. The people who work here are incredibly selfless, and the difference they make in the lives of the residents and their families cannot be overstated. If you’re searching for a place where you can have complete peace of mind knowing your loved one will be treated with the highest standard of care, dignity, compassion, and genuine love, I honestly don’t believe there is a better place than Sunrise Senior Living. This review is for staff members Yvonne and Lily, I can’t speak for the facility but if it’s any reflection of these ladies I can only imagine it is just as wonderful as they are. I was in a car accident at the intersection out front of the facility, when the firemen brought me to the side of the road these two ladies were truly my guardian angels. They rushed to aid myself and the other driver, praying over us, bringing water, reassuring us that we were okay and that we were blessed. I have never felt such profound kindness and love from strangers. I’m so incredibly thankful for these ladies and cannot thank them enough for being so selfless in their acts, and waiting with me patiently while I waited for my mom to pick me up. This facility is incredibly blessed to have Yvonne and Lily as a part of their staff. God bless and much love ❤️

Am so happy my 93 year old mom has found a safe and happy home here. The facilities are of course in a prime location where she can access everything imaginable including the best shops, doctors, library, museums. But I feel like its incredible and responsive staff is what truly puts Sunrise over the top. Especially talented in-house pt/ot specialists, RENO THE AMAZING AND CARING, dining crew, executive director Sean, Marie exercise leader, Gavin handyman, wonderful front desk concierge people...This quality is evident literally down to any new night shift helper/cleaner you may run into or call during a time of need. Folks there are positive and go out of their way for elders who really need and appreciate thoughtful special care. We are overjoyed to daily offer my family's deepest thanks and highest continuing recommendation in the field of elegant senior living!

This place has been a blessing to my father, who feels right at home. Staff are great, rooms are great and I really recommend their memory care division, which has made my dad feel at home.
