How we’re responding as our vaccination rates rise.
Meet our exceptional team here at Sunrise of Old Tappan, NJ.
"I have been with Sunrise since 1997, 21 years! I started as the Reminiscence Coordinator and from there became the Area Program Manager. I became an Executive Director in 2009. Prior to Sunrise, I worked in Long Term Care as a Social Worker.
My favorite part of my job is working with such a hardworking and compassionate team. I enjoy being with our residents and being able to make a difference in their lives That's what the best part of Sunrise is to me.
When I'm not working, I spend time with my husband and two children, I spend time in the gym, and I enjoy gardening."
"After beginning my journey in healthcare working in sales at an all Memory Care Community, I started my career with Sunrise in 2019. I've enjoyed working with seniors so much that I became a Certified Dementia Practitioner, in addition to a Certified Assisted Living Administrator during that time.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking my dog for walks, traveling, and enjoying great restaurants with my family and friends."
"I have been fortunate enough to have been with Sunrise since 1998. My favorite part of my job is spending time with the residents and listening to their stories. Being a part of this chapter in their lives is truly a gift.
The best part of working at Sunrise is that the residents become part of your family. I love that they can age in place and stay at Sunrise. In my free time, I love to be outdoors, reading, listening to music, and taking trips to spend time with my family in Trinidad and Tobago."
"I am fortunate enough to have been with Sunrise since 2004. My favorite part of my job here is listening and learning about the lives of our residents and seeing them smile when they reminisce about their favorite past times.
The best part of working at Sunrise is being able to work in a flexible and family-oriented environment. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time creating memories of my own with my daughter, family, and friends."

Kathy has been with Sunrise since 2006. She loves Sunrise so much she works as our concierge and our Life Enrichment Manager. She enjoys spending time with people and helping our memory care residents by keeping their minds active and engaged.
I came to Sunrise in 2006 thinking this would be a great part-time job. I realized how much I loved the people and the staff. I now work full time. Three days a week, I work as our Life Enrichment Manager with residents who have Alzheimer's. I love singing, dancing and encouraging them to remember and participate in activities. The other two days, I am back at the desk as concierge. I love both jobs, and I realize every person has a story. Our residents have so much wisdom.
Recently, I read a great quote from Andy Rooney: "I've learned the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person." Thank you, Sunrise, for making me a better person.
